
GENERAL TOURNAMENT RULES

Tournament format will be (2) pool play games followed by single elimination tournament.

Tournament tie breakers for pool play are head to head (when applicable), total runs allowed, total runs scored, flip of coin.

RUN RULE: 15 after 2, 12 after 3, 10 after 4, 8 after 5.

In pool play, home team will be determined by the flip of a coin. In tournament play, the higher seed will be the home team. Pool play games can end in a tie.
-
TIME LIMITS: 5U, 6U, 7U, & 8U – (5) innings or 60 minutes. No new inning after 50 min.

9U, 10U, 11U & 12U – (6) innings or 1 hour, 30 minutes. No new inning after 1 hour, 20 minutes.
-
13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17/18U – (6) innings or 1 hour 45 minutes. No new inning after 1 hour, 35 minutes.

***No time limit for Championship games.

***For (1) day tournaments, game time limits will be 10 minutes less than (2) day tournaments. Game time limit for championship game TBD.

BATS: 5U & 6U – 28 inches in length and 2.25 inches in diameter.

7U, 8U, 9U, 10U, 11U & 12U – The bat MUST have a USSSA stamp, BPF 1.15 stamp or USA stamp and any size barrel is allowed. The bat also needs to be legal with USSSA’s bat requirements.

13U – -10 or -5, USSSA stamp; 14U - -5or BBCOR; 15U – BBCOR only; 14/15U mix – BBCOR; 16U – 18U – BBCOR only.

PITCHING: (9) innings for the weekend. (1) pitch constitutes an inning. (7) innings for a one-day tournament.

OFFENSIVE: 5U, 6U, 7U & 8U – Can bat the entire roster. 9U – Can roster bat and have free subs on defense.

10U, 11U & 12U – EH, DH or roster bat.
-
13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17/18U – Roster bat or High school rules.
ADDITIONAL RULES OF NOTE:

USSSA age/grade requirements are honored. DOB cutoff is May 1.

If game is not completed due to weather or other circumstances, it will revert back to last completed inning.

Players cannot play for multiple rosters within the same age division.
-
One warning per team on throwing bat. The next bat thrown results with an out.
-
Malicious hits on the catcher is an automatic ejection. Player running must try to avoid direct collision. Umpire judgement in regard to actual call.

Metal cleats or prohibited on temporary mounds.
-
If a player is not able to play due to medical reasons, sickness, heat exhaustion, etc, during the game, the batting line up will move up and teams will not take an out unless a team has less than (9) players. Once the player is able to play their position, batting order will return to normal.

In the event of a rain out, each team will be given a 4-4 tie. In the event of a forfeit, the winning team will be rewarded a 4-0 win.

Leave the dugouts like you found them. BE RESPECTFUL!
AGE SPECIFIC RULES for 5U, 6U, 7U & 8U
-
Each team is allowed (2) coaches in the outfield on defense in foul ball territory.

Runner may not leave the base until contact is made with the baseball. Runner leaving early results in team warning; next occasion is an automatic out.

Infielder must stop the lead runner. Once the infielder has stopped the lead runner, time will be called. Runners not halfway to next base must return to prior base.

No infield fly rule.
-
No head first slides. First incident will be a team warning. Next occasion is an automatic out.

6 runs max per inning. Game will be over when mathematically impossible to tie. *Unlimited runs in championship game only.

For coach pitch, each batter will get (5) pitches or three strikes. 5th pitch fouls equals another pitch.

On defense, 10 players are allowed in field, (4) will be outfielders. Teams may start and end a game with (9) players. Each team must have a pitcher and a catcher.

If pitching coach is hit by the batted ball it will result in a do over.
-
There will be a 10’ diameter circle around the pitchers mound. The pitcher must remain with at least one foot inside the circle until the batter hits the ball.
AGE SPECIFIC RULES FOR 9U (46/60)

Runner may not leave the base until contact is made with the baseball. Runner leaving early results in team warning; next occasion is an automatic out.

No infield fly rule.

No head first slides unless diving back for base. First incident will be a team warning. Next occasion is an automatic out.

All other Cal Ripken will apply.

Showing fake bunts is not permitted.

AGE SPECIFIC RULES FOR 10U (46/65), 11U, 12U (50/70) & HIGH SCHOOL DIVISIONS

PROTESTS,
PARENTS/COACHES
CONDUCT
THERE WILL BE NO PROTESTS.
Umpire’s judgment calls should not be questioned, they are exactly that, judgment. Tournament director has the authority to remove any coach, parent, fan or player that may cause a drastic scene or continued harassment of an umpire.
COACHES AND PARENTS CONDUCT
This tournament is designed for the kids, and we intend to make sure that they are the main priority. Things are going to happen during the game that coaches and parents will not be happy with, but please remember that your kids develop their opinions of acceptable behavior from what they see you doing. There will be absolutely no foul or abusive language or unsportsmanlike conduct tolerated.
If a coach or assistant coach is ejected from a game, they must set out that game and the
next game.
Alcoholic beverages of any type are not permitted at any field and any problems with alcohol at the park will be handled by the local Police Department. If there is any rule or interpretation that is not fully explained by this list of rules please do not hesitate to ask the home plate umpire and get a ruling immediately prior to your first game, do not wait until the action happens.
